To ensure stability with our DirectAdmin servers, we are modifying all of our current DA hosting packages to include new or alternated soft and hard limits.
Basic Plan
Our lowest tier of hosting now enforces a hard limit. All Basic Plan customers will have access to 3GB of storage and 60GB of monthly bandwidth.
Inode limits have been removed.
Starter Plan
Our second lowest tier of hosting now enforces a hard limit, just like our Basic Plan. All Starter Plan customers will have access to 5GB of storage and 80GB of monthly bandwidth.
Inode limits have been removed.
Jester’s Plan
While we’re not enforcing hard limits on our Jester’s Plan, we are going to be adjusting our Fair Use Policy. We are doing this to try and combat ongoing server abuse.
To confirm, our Guaranteed Storage and Guaranteed Bandwidth are not changing. Instead, our Fair Use Storage is now set at 40GB, and our Fair Use Bandwidth is now 300GB.
King’s Plan
Just like our Jester’s Plan, we are not changing our Guaranteed Storage or Guaranteed Bandwidth. However, effective immediately, each King’s Plan customer will have a Fair Use Storage amount of 80GB, and a Fair Use Bandwidth amount of 800GB.
Royal Plan
The Fair Use Storage is now set to 150GB, and Fair Use Bandwidth to 1.5TB. No other changes.
What Does This Mean For Me?
If your account is in good standing, and you’re not exceeding your account limits, then absolutely nothing will change. Your website and account will continue to operate exactly as they always have.
However, if you’re over the above mentioned limits, then our Fair Use Policy will apply. Specifically, this part of the policy will be enforced.
- You will need to upgrade to a higher plan, which may come at an additional cost.
- Your Soft Limits will be converted to Hard Limits, which will result in an immediate account suspension until you’re able to reduce your storage usage or networking bandwidth.
What Do I Need To Do If I’m Over The New Limits?
If you’re using more storage or bandwidth than allowed by our Fair Usage Policy, your account will be suspended. This only affects a very small percentage of our user base (less than 7%), so there’s a very good chance that you’re going to be totally fine, and have zero issues whatsoever. However, if you’re using more? Well, you’ll need to either upgrade to a higher tier of hosting, remove or delete stuff off of your account so that you fit within these new limits, or your account will be suspended.
When Will These New Policies Start?
We will begin enforcing our new Fair Usage policy within the next 48 hours, as of time of publication. Our Starter Plan and Basic Plan will be converted into hard limits on January 1st, 2025.
